25 Ways to Use A Coffee Filter! Better than paper towels and a lot less expensive!

"A client sent this to me via email, I love it! While I haven't tried all these uses, I look forward to your feedback on what works and what does not!"-Cindy

25 Ways to Use A Coffee Filter! Better than paper towels and a lot less expensive...

COFFEE FILTERS-Household Cleaning Tips

Coffee filters.... Who knew!   And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing even the large ones.

1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.

2. Clean windows, mirrors, and chrome...  Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.

3.  Protect China by separating your good dishes with a coffee filter between each dish.

4.  Filter broken cork from wine.  If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.

5.  Protect a cast-iron skillet.  Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.

6.  Apply shoe polish.  Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

7.  Recycle frying oil.  After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.

8.  Weigh chopped foods.  Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.

9.  Hold tacos.  Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

10.  Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot.  Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.

11.  Prevent a Popsicle from dripping.  Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.

12.  Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows?  Use strips of coffee filters...

13.  Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them.  It soaks out all the grease.

14.  Keep in the bathroom.  They make great "razor nick fixers."

15.   as a sewing backing.  Use a filter as an easy-to-tear backing for embroidering or appliquéing soft fabrics.

16.  Put baking soda into a coffee filter and insert into shoes or a closet to absorb or prevent odors.

17.  Use them to strain soup stock and to tie fresh herbs in to put in soups and stews.

18.  Use a coffee filter to prevent spilling when you add fluids to your car.

19.  Use them as a spoon rest while cooking and clean up small counter spills.

20.  Can use to hold dry ingredients when baking or when cutting a piece of fruit or veggies...  Saves on having extra bowls to wash.

21.  Use them to wrap Christmas ornaments for storage.

22.  Use them to remove fingernail polish when out of cotton balls.

23.  Use them to sprout seeds.  Simply dampen the coffee filter, place seeds inside, fold it and place it into a plastic baggie until they sprout.

24. Use coffee filters as blotting paper for pressed flowers.  Place the flowers between two coffee filters and put the coffee filters in phone book...

25.  Use as a disposable "snack bowl" for popcorn, chips, etc.

OH YEAH THEY ARE GREAT TO USE IN YOUR COFFEE MAKERS TOO

Thanks Dawn C. for these great suggestions. I look forward to seeing how well they work.

How ActiveRain Has Helped Me In My Business Aside From The Great Referrals

How ActiveRain Has Helped Me In My Business Aside From The Great Referrals!

Sharing Experiences

I recently made some changes to my real estate business, during which time I sometimes had doubts about my decision, the ActiveRain community supportwas there for me. Every time I had a doubt it did not fail that I could look on ActiveRain and find a post from another agent who had gone through what I was going through. A fellow real estate agent who had this experience and was willing to freely share that experience for thebenefit of the community. I love the sense of community we have here at ActiveRain. I feel most if not all the agents posting on ActiveRainare true 'teachers at heart' and understand that by sharing their experiences they can help others be a better real estate agentand person. I am truly grateful to everyone on ActiveRain who takes the time to post about their real life experiences, and all the great agents and industry professionals that take the time to respond to my posts. YA'LL ROCK!

Floresville, Texas A Great Place To Live-Floresville Real Estate!

Floresville, Texas A Great Place To Live-Floresville Real Estate!

Floresville, Texas A Great Place To Live-Floresville Real Estate!

Floresville, Texas is a small community 20 miles southeast of San Antonio. Floresville offers all the charm of a small town while still being convient to the bustle of the 'big city' of San Antonio.

Almost eleven years ago my husband and I relocated with the Air Force to the San Antonio area. On a weekend drive we discovered Floresville, and decided to move our growing family here. Floresville offered the country living that we were looking for within an easy commute to San Antonio for my husbands job. It offered our first real sense of community. My husband, a native Texan grew up in 'the west Texas Town of El Paso'. I was a 'military brat' and due to the career field my dad was in moved every 2 to 4 years. I had never been in one place long enough to establish roots. We were ready to settle into one place we could call home. Floresville was that home.

Floresville with all it's history, tradition and diverse culture was exactly what we were looking for. I must admit the first 'Peanut Festival' parade with all the floats decorated with peanut bushes was a bit different. Now it has become a beloved tradition. I wouldn't want to live anywhere but Floresville, Texas.

I am blessed to sell real estate in Floresville and the surrounding areas. I get to experience the beauty of my hometown everyday.

Raising The Bar By Doing Hard Things! 5 Hard Things You Can Do To Improve Your Business And Your Life!

Raising The Bar By Doing Hard Things! 5 Things You Can Do To Improve Your Business And Your Life!

Raising The Bar By Doing Hard Things! 5 Hard Things You Can Do To Improve Your Business And Your Life!

Have you ever had a full circle moment? A moment that tied choices that are weighing on your mind and provided you the answers needed to make a hard decision. I have been evaluating my real estate business direction recently in an attempt to build a business plan for my lasting future as a REALTOR©. In coming off my best year ever in 2009 I hesitate in making changes, but realize that in these tough economic times you must adapt to survive and never fear change.

My full circle moment was yesterday during our church worship service. For the past fifteen years since I accepted Jesus as my savior I have prayed for guidance with all major decision in my life. My business decisions are no different, I ask for guidance through prayer. This afternoon my prayers were answered through a very unique message, brought to us by the youth of our church. This message was on 'Raising The Bar By Doing Hard Things' and was based on the book Do Hard Things by twin brothers Alex and Brett Harris. This book was written for teens and challenges them to rebel against the status quo and exceed expectations that limit them. We can learn a lot form the main points of this book that can be applied to our real estate business and our lives.

I learned 5 hard things that I plan to do to improve my real estate business and life, I thought I would share them with you. Maybe we can all grow together.

1. Do things that are outside your comfort zone.

2. Do more than is expected or required of you.

3. Do things that are too big to accomplish on your own.

4. Do things that have no immediate 'payoff'.

5. Do things that challenge the norm. Think outside the box.

May you be inspired to Do Hard Things!
